NPHL Welcomes the Akwesasne Wild! (Relocation)
Exciting News: The Glengarry Pipers Relocate to Akwesasne
The Northern Premier Hockey League (NPHL) is thrilled to announce that the Glengarry Pipers have found a new home in the vibrant community of Akwesasne! This exciting move marks the beginning of a new chapter for both the team and the community, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come.
This relocation comes as part of a strong partnership with Akwesasne local businessman Scott Thompson, who has shown incredible interest and support for the incoming team. Hockey has always played an important role in bringing people together, and we are excited to see how this new relationship will help strengthen the bond between Akwesasne and the NPHL.
Co-Owner of the Wild Ryan MacLeod had this to say about the relocation:
"Really Grateful for the four years in Glengarry but extremely excited to move the team to Akwesasne and partner up with Scott “Butter” Thompson. Butter brings great leadership and is greatly respected in the Akwesasne area, really looking forward to a great partnership."
Akwesasne is known for its passionate fans and love for hockey, and we’re confident that the Akwesasne Wild will quickly become a central part of this community's sports culture. This move brings new energy, new opportunities, and an exciting future for the team and fans alike.
We look forward to seeing you at the rink, cheering on the Wild as they take on the competition in their new home!
Stay tuned for more updates, and let's make this new era of NPHL hockey a memorable one!
