Introducing the Metropolitan League: A New Chapter in NPHL Expansion

The Northern Premier Hockey League is proud to announce the launch of a brand-new division under the NPHL banner: the Metropolitan Branch.

This marks an important step in the continued growth of the league and in our commitment to expanding senior hockey across a wider region. The Metropolitan Branch will operate under the NPHL umbrella with its own schedule and championship, while sharing one brand, one constitution, and one set of rules and values.

The addition of this division is a major milestone not only for the league, but for the many communities now represented across our growing footprint, from our Quebec-based teams to the Windsor area and everywhere in between.

Eight Teams. One Bold Beginning.

We are proud to confirm that eight teams have committed to the Metropolitan Branch, with more announcements expected in the future. This strong foundation reflects the growing passion for senior hockey in metropolitan centres and surrounding communities.

The inaugural Metropolitan Branch lineup includes:

  • Alvinston Killer Bees

  • Strathroy Jets

  • Stratford Irish

  • Six Nations Ironmen

  • Tilbury Bluebirds

  • Woodstock Lakers

  • Orangeville Blitz

  • Halton Hills Coyotes

We proudly welcome these teams to the NPHL and look forward to the rivalries, unforgettable moments, and community pride they will bring to the league.

One League. Many Teams. A Shared Vision.

The NPHL continues to evolve into more than just a league. It is becoming a home for senior hockey excellence across a broader region. The Metropolitan League represents the next step in that vision and signals even more growth ahead.

Fans can stay tuned for team updates, schedule announcements, and more exciting news as this new chapter begins.

Welcome to the next era of senior hockey.
