What is the NPHL?

Where does the NPHL operate?

What level of hockey is the NPHL?
The NPHL is a competitive Senior Hockey League designed for experienced players. Skill levels may vary by division, but games are fast-paced, structured, and officiated to league standards.
Teams & Players
How do I join the NPHL?
Players must register through an NPHL team or through league-approved registration processes. Openings, tryouts, or recruitment opportunities are typically announced by teams or the league.
Can I join without a team?
Yes. Players without a team may submit interest to the league or teams directly. Placement is subject to availability and team needs.
Are there age requirements?
Age Eligibility
Beginning this season, a player must be 21 years of age or older as of December 31st of the current playing year.
Two stipulations apply to this policy:
(1) players aged 21 or younger with prior Major Junior hockey experience will remain eligible to sign and compete.
(2) players who have previously played in the NPHL or are currently under contract will retain their eligibility. These adjustments are designed to raise the developmental floor of the league.

Are female players allowed to play in the NPHL?
No. At this time, female players are not permitted to participate in the NPHL.
The NPHL is structured as a men’s league, and participation is limited to male players in order to maintain competitive balance, safety standards, and league consistency. This policy applies across all divisions and is outlined within league rules and eligibility requirements.
The league continues to evaluate its structure and policies as it grows, but currently, participation is restricted to male players only.

What rules does the NPHL use?

Discipline & Conduct
What is expected of players and team staff?

How are suspensions and discipline handled?
All disciplinary matters are reviewed by the league. Suspensions, fines, or further action are issued based on incident reports, video (if available), and league policy.
Can players appeal suspensions?
Yes. The appeal process is outlined in the league’s rules and policies section.
Officials & Game Management
Who officiates NPHL games?
Games are officiated by trained officials assigned by the league. Officials operate under league standards and directives.
Can teams or players question calls?
Respectful communication is expected. Abuse or confrontation of officials is subject to discipline.
Insurance & Safety
Are players insured?
League carries liability insurance which extends to all participating players & staff. *Some Dental coverage is also included*.
What happens if a player is injured?
Teams and officials follow established injury and safety protocols. Serious injuries may require incident reporting.
Scheduling & Facilities
When are games played?
Game days and times vary by Branch and venue. Schedules are released before the season and updated as needed.
Where are games played?
Games are played at league-approved facilities. Locations are listed on the league website.
Media, Stats & Promotion
Are stats tracked?
Yes. Player and team statistics are tracked when available and published through league platforms.
Can games be streamed or recorded?
