Player Safety Incident
League Statement on Player Safety and Disciplinary Action
The NPHL takes player safety seriously and remains committed to providing a fair, respectful, and safe environment for all participants. Following a thorough review of recent events during the game between the Six Nations Ironmen and the Halton Hills Coyotes, the league has issued disciplinary action against a player from the Six Nations Ironmen.
This decision was made after careful consideration of the incident, including its context, intent, and the player’s prior history. Player safety is the cornerstone of our league, and we have a responsibility to protect the physical well-being of our athletes while upholding the integrity of the game. Consistency and fairness in discipline require that past behavior and established patterns are taken into account.
As a result of this review, Ironmen #48 has been suspended indefinitely, for a term no less than through the conclusion of the 2025–2026 regular season, including playoffs.
The NPHL believes transparency is essential to maintaining trust within our league community. By openly communicating disciplinary actions, we ensure that players, teams, and fans understand the standards of conduct expected and the consequences of actions that place player safety at risk. This approach reinforces our commitment to accountability, fairness, and respect for the game.
We remain dedicated to fostering a competitive environment where hockey can be played safely and responsibly. Thank you to our fans, teams, and players for continuing to support these values.
