HALTON HILLS JOINS NPHL AS THE METROPOLITAN TAKES FORM
Welcome to the Pack: Halton Hills Coyotes Join the Northern Premier Hockey League
ACTON, ON – July 22, 2025 — The Northern Premier Hockey League (NPHL) is proud to announce that the Halton Hills Coyotes have officially joined the league as the eighth and final team in the Metropolitan Division for the upcoming 2025–26 season.
Formerly known as the Richmond Hill Coyotes, the organization has relocated west to Acton, a vibrant and growing community within the Town of Halton Hills. This move marks a fresh chapter for the team and brings NPHL action to a passionate new fan base in the western GTA.
A New Home, Same Competitive Spirit
The Coyotes will call the Acton their new home, where fans can expect fast-paced, high-intensity senior hockey starting this fall. With a loyal core of returning players, experienced coaching staff, and a renewed focus on community engagement, the Coyotes are ready to make an immediate impact in their new surroundings.
“This is a great move for the franchise and for the league,” said NPHL Commissioner Josh Rowlands. “The Coyotes have a strong hockey culture and bring with them a tradition of competitive play and professionalism. They’re going to be a great fit for the NPHL.”
Completing the Metropolitan Division
The addition of the Halton Hills Coyotes finalizes the eight-team Metropolitan Division, which also includes:
Alvinston Killer Bees
Orangeville Blitz
Six Nations Ironmen
Stratford Fighting Irish
Strathroy Jets
Tilbury Bluebirds
Woodstock Lakers
With the league now set, the NPHL’s upcoming season promises a full slate of high-stakes rivalries, expanded fan bases, and a tighter, more exciting playoff race.
Looking Ahead
The Coyotes will unveil their updated branding and uniforms in the coming weeks, ahead of their season opener in October. Rosters will begin to take shape and be updated shortly.
As the newest face in a growing league, the Halton Hills Coyotes are ready to bring top-tier hockey to their new hometown—and they’re hungry to prove themselves from day one.
