All-Star Leadership (Capital)

📣 CAPITAL BRANCH ANNOUNCEMENT

The Northern Premier Hockey League is pleased to introduce the All-Star Captains and Head Coaches for the 2026 showcase.

Catch the East and West squads hitting the ice January 17 in Tweed, Ontario, for the All-Star Game and Skills Competition. The leadership groups are set, the stage is ready, and the countdown is officially on.

Eastern Captain – Mitch Gibson (North Dundas Rockets)
Mitch Gibson comes in fresh off the Rockets’ championship run, carrying the kind of experience you can’t fake. With four seasons of heavy involvement in the league, he brings a blend of skill, leadership, and the respect of players across the NPHL.

Eastern Head Coach – Darcy Findlay (Shawville Pontiacs)
Darcy Findlay has rebuilt the Pontiacs on the fly and somehow made it look easy. Under his direction, Shawville has surged to the top of the Eastern Conference standings, sitting just behind the Mariners with an impressive 8-1 record and an .889 winning percentage.

Western Captain – Luc Brown (Deseronto Bulldogs)
In just his second NPHL season, Luc Brown continues to light up opposing defenses like it’s a personal hobby. With four years of NCAA hockey and another four in the ECHL, he brings a deep, seasoned background to Deseronto’s lineup. His experience and production have helped push the Bulldogs toward the top of the Western Conference standings.

Western Co-Head Coaches – Rob Dopson & JJ Rhoden (Smiths Falls Rideaus)
Rob Dopson and JJ Rhoden return behind the bench after last season’s breakout campaign, where the Rideaus pushed the Rockets in a tight battle for the 24/25 championship. Smiths Falls has come out flying again this year, boosted by key roster additions and the steady, composed leadership of their coaching duo. Their calm presence and sharp game management have the Rideaus looking like a serious threat once more.

Congratulations to all these skilled, dedicated and professional individuals! Well deserved! Full Capital Roster announcement next week.
